Hi Desiree!
First of all let me say that I love the fact that you break the stereotype of what a “trucker should be.” I also admire you for blogging about violence against female drivers and new trucking laws such as Jason’s Law. I really enjoy reading about your various adventures and what you experience on the road as a female trucker.
I also noticed that you mentioned Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers in some of your posts and I wanted to let you know about some changes and perks for drivers.
I want to introduce you to a new program from Pilot Flying J, the Frequent Fueler Advantage, an enhanced loyalty program for professional drivers and RV customers. Frequent Fueler Advantage will allow professional drivers to instantly accrue and redeem loyalty points in all participating Pilot and Flying J travel centers, travel plazas and restaurants across the U.S. and Canada. Added benefits of the new program for professional drivers include extended shower expirations for loyal customers, shower credits for expeditors and in-store rewards.
I know that a lot of your readers are fellow trucking professionals so I wanted to reach out to you to see if you would be interested in learning more about the Frequent Fueler Advantage and writing an article about them? What do you think?
For more information, please see the online press release at http://www.pitchengine.com/pitch/114722/. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thanks,
Kelly
Hi Kelly,
Thanks for posting! I actually just picked up my new Pilot/Flying J card and intend on activating it in the next day or so.
The kiosk was malfunctioning at the location I got it from and the manager advised me I’d have a better chance to get it done correctly by going online to complete the process.
I will take the link you posted and share it on the Facebook fanpage called “Real Women Truckers” which is both Men & Women Drivers and ask them for their feedback also. You are welcome to become a fan too and answer any questions for them there on that page.
My direct email is TruckerDesiree@gmail.com if you have any other questions or would like me to pose one to the drivers on the collaboration or pages we have on Facebook & Twitter.
Cheers,
Desiree
Thanks so much for posting the link on the facebook page! I’ve become a fan and I’ll keep checking to see what new discussions arise. I’m also forward the discussions to the Pilot Flying J Team so they can get involved in the discussion as well.
Thanks again,
Kelly

Do you still drive a truck?
No, I am not driving anymore. I am working on some other projects in addition to writing about trucking topics on various blogs. I am also finishing my degree in Global Business & Public Policy. I have not decided yet if I will apply that to the transportation industry.
I had a feeling you weren’t driving anymore. The lifestyle of an OTR trucker is rough but I guess you know that. I just got my B cdl license. I am more of a back up driver than full time (local stuff). I like the idea of being home every night. Good luck to you in your new endeavors. I’m sure you will do great things. If you do decide to apply your degree in transportation it will serve the trucking industry well.
Thanks, the degree I am finishing is related to transportation and Global supply chain so I may not be behind the wheel but I will probably remain behind the scenes in the industry in some form or fashion. I miss driving OTR so I have already been taking short roads trips. It’s hard if you have the gypsy blood to stay in one place long. I love every place I go and then I want to go somewhere else
